POSITION SUMMARY:
Physician is employed by Meritus Health for full-time care of patients of the health system. Physician will perform duties as agreed in the terms of the employment agreement. Conditions of employment are outlined in the employment agreement.
Meritus Health is searching for an endocrinologist to care for a broad spectrum of endocrinology patients. The patient mix is, however, heavily slanted toward diabetes. The reason for this search is patient demand/referral demand. New patients are scheduled about 3 - 4 months out.
This opportunity is to join one other endocrinologist in our comprehensive endocrinology center. The Center includes diabetic educators, nutritionists and other clinical support staff; some practitioners are masters prepared. The Center is fully certified by the ADA.
The physician will concentrate on outpatient care, with only one or two inpatient consults per day when on call. Call is 1:3. Call is usually phone call only; inpatient response time requirement is 24 hours. Outpatient hours are M-Th 8am - 6pm; closed Friday. The current physician is not doing office or other procedures but is considering how to incorporate them into her practice if a new physicians comes to the Center.
This is currently a part-time opportunity, but there is potential for an increase to full-time as demand grows from our secondary markets and we are already seeing patients from some distance away. Now, the typical schedule would be two 10- hour days each week.
