### Summary
The Social Worker Local Recovery Coordinator (LRC) is located in the Mental Health Service, Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS), Tucson, AZ. The LRC serves to assist in implementation of policies and procedures from the National Recovery Coordinator (NRC), and facilitate implementation of recovery oriented services in Mental Health programs, which includes education of providers and veterans and their families on recovery and evaluation of implementation efforts. The LRC also serves as the ReachVet Coordinator for the SAVAHCS.
**Work Schedule:** Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4;30 pm, May be required to work nights, weekends or holidays as needed.

### Responsibilities
* Advise MH Chief and/or program directors on filling peer specialist positions and serves as a consultant to peer support specialists.
* Assist with VA regional or local recovery oriented trainings, meetings, or conferences as needed. Coordinates with Mental Health leadership to create annual Mental Health Summits.
* Serve as a Mental Health Liaison to the facility Consumer Council.
* Provide reports on implementation progress to the VISN RC and the NRC as requested.
* Meet monthly via conference call with other VISN LRCs to coordinate a network response to recovery implementation and implementation of CO policies and procedures related to recovery.
* Participate in facility MH leadership meetings and policy planning groups.
* Identified as the facility point of contact (POC) for SMITRECC "SMI Re-Engagement Project."
* Represent SAVAHCS at local and state-wide activities related to Veterans Mental Health issues.
* Engage in direct clinical services providing recovery oriented treatments and outreach to Veterans with serious mental illness under the SMI Re-Engage project as a portion of the direct clinical time.

### Qualifications
**Basic Requirements**:
* United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
* English language proficiency (written and spoken).
Must have a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from a school of Social Work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
* Must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice Social Work at the Master's degree level. e.g. LMSW.
* GS-12 Social Worker Program Coordinators must be licensed or certified by a state at the advanced practice level which included an ASWB advanced generalist or clinical examination, e.g. LCSW.
**Grade Determinations**: GS-12: In addition to meeting all basic requirements, applicant must have at least two (2) year of professional social work experience equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11. This experience must have demonstrated possession of advanced practice skills and judgment. At least two years should be in an area of specialized social work practice. Examples include: Advanced knowledge of and mastery of theories and modalities used in the specialized treatment of complex physical or mental illness. Advanced and expert skill in a range of specialized interventions and treatment modalities used in specialty treatment programs or with special patient populations. Expert skill in developing and implementing methods for measuring effectiveness of social work practice and services in the specialty area. Ability to expand clinical knowledge and write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines pertaining to the specialty population or specialty treatment program.
