Title: Production Supervisor I
Location: NY-Watkins Glen
Cargill Salt services customers by packaging and shipping salt for the food, water conditioning, industrial, agricultural and packaged deicing markets. Cargill Salt us currently looking for a Production Supervisor at our Watkins Glen, NY location.
This position supervises and develops direct reports, leads safety and process efficiency initiatives, training and site capital and expense projects. The position is responsible for the general operational responsibilities of all areas of plant operations.
This is a daytime position with accountability for leading a team of approximately 19 employees across all shifts. This position requires collaboration with the other department supervisors, maintenance, quality, supply chain, office personnel, and production team members to achieve goals.
Major Accountabilities:
50% - Coach, train and provide management support to employees to achieve their individual, department and location's goals.
20% - Manage and promote safety, food safety, quality processes and housekeeping
10% - Develop and implement capital and expenses projects that support location goals.
10% - Facilitate site communication through leadership and outreach across all departments, shifts and business unit functions.
10% - Ensure compliance with all Cargill, local, state, federal, and environmental guidelines and regulations.
Required:
* BS degree in an Engineering field (Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
* Previous experience in a supervisory role, directly supervising and developing others
*
Ability to create an environment conducive to teamwork; strong interpersonal skills
*
Leads by holding self and others accountable; delivers on commitments.
*
Strong listening skills; written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
* Proven success in EHS (Environment, Health & Safety)
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows, and capacity to learn new computer systems

Cargill Deicing Technology (CDT,) is the leading producer of deicing customer solutions in North America. Our Deicing Business Unit is looking for a Weighmaster Traffic Clerk located in the Lansing, NYfacility.
On a daily basis the Traffic Clerk will be responsible for directing bulk and package product trucks for on-time delivery, verifying orders and problem-solving transportation and/or customer issues. The functions included in this process are verifying customer order information compared to transportation information and inventory in a computer system. This position must be flexible to the changing needs of the shipping season which include the ability to work 1st and/or 2nd shift.
Required:
* High School Diploma/GED
* At least 2 years of experience in customer service, order entry, or transportation/distribution
* Excellent communication skills, telephone, and interpersonal
* Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel
* Strong customer focus
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment with deadlines and peak demand periods with minimal supervision
* Ability to work first or second shift, depending on season
