Under General Supervision, utilizing technical expertise or overseeing a specific area within established practices and guidelines, by Management of Fluor or its subsidiaries (indicated as the Company"), the purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative and technical knowledge and direction for the job functions listed below with the objective of ensuring Fluor''s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value. Senior level engineer responsible for the Facility engineering work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties as assigned.)
. Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the work activities.
. Ensures the effective pursuit and completion of Facility engineering and programs within budgetary guidelines while maintaining the standards of engineering excellence.
. Reviews and approves engineering designs.
. Directs the development of new methods or techniques.
. Maintains contact with client representatives to ensure good communication and satisfactory progress of contract deliverables.
. Has the ability to perform as a project manager
. Continually establishes and/or reviews technical design, criteria, and specifications for all electrical systems; communicates to other engineers through standard details, Annual Report, and
Master Specifications.
. Prepares and/or reviews engineering estimates for planning purposes.
. Represents the discipline in key interdepartmental and client conference.
. Collaborates with peers to create new ways of saving money for the client.
. Assists project engineers in the selection of equipment.
. Reviews calculations, sketches, and layouts of other engineers and designers.
. Develops budgets, plans, forecasts, and plans own workload.
. Prepares or reviews specifications, calculations, and technical studies.
. Works with suppliers to develop new technical concepts.
. Good problem-solving skills.
. Develops and prioritizes facilities improvement projects.
. Must have good written and verbal communications skills.
. Must be able to work on spreadsheets, word processors, e-mail, and PC's.
Other Duties
. Provide technical leadership for the various medium voltage operations.
. Plan, budget, schedule and coordinate equipment maintenance activities.
. Develop, communicate and document switching, maintenance and operating procedures.
. Supervise and perform medium voltage and data center switching operations.
. Develop and oversee capital planning projects.
. Perform studies for short circuit, coordination and arc flash hazards
