Direct the materials planning function in achieving set standards and goals. Responsible for ensuring the proper components are available to support the production plan, while maintaining inventory and minimizing obsolescence. To provide material support to production, launch team and ECN Committee within the Henderson Facility. Material support to be provided with regards to timing, execution and implementation daily production, of all new Program launches and Engineering Changes.
Responsible for the effective management of all material resources for the facility in the coordination and execution of plant, customer and corporate material requirements. Control Material Department operating cost, departmental personnel, plant material cost, inventory and material supply. Represents the facility in all material related issues both internal and external (Production scheduling and suppliers).
· Review production schedules and organize functional activities to insure compliance with cost and quality standards.
· Responsible for development of budgets, targets or performance measurable and action plans or allocation of resources required to obtain them.
· Actively participate in cost reduction, continuous improvement and team activities
· Implement company policies and procedures; assure uniformity of application between shifts and between departments.
· Build strong, efficient and well-trained Material team through effective performance appraisals, personnel development and training.
· Coordinate all materials aspects of engineering changes to insure minimal material obsolescence, part number changes, new suppliers, affectivity date changes, etc.
· Monitor and facilitate ramp up schedules for new products to ensure production start dates are met by supply base. Assist in development of ramp-up plans for new products that assure start of production dates can be met without any problems.
· Initiate and review material releases for components and production planning to support production.
· Monitors and controls inventory to insure targets are met.
· Act as facilitator between suppliers and plant operation with regard to open issues.
· Thorough knowledge of all aspects of material control systems (SAP, SCM, etc.) warehousing/stores, logistics and material flow in manufacturing operation.

Internal or External Vocational Experience:
5-7 Years previous work experience with high volume manufacturing environment in production master planning, scheduling, warehouse or logistics management role. Strong SAP or other inventory control system experience.

Bachelor's Degree in related business or management field
Travel: Frequent over night, or emergency travel may be required.
Physical: Constant walking, standing and involved in material flow of building. May be required to operate material handling equipment or direct other in this capacity. Occasional bending, stooping or reaching to investigate material issues.
Mental: Substantial, high stress, complex material flow issues and constant changes as customer, supplier and production liaison.
