Project Information Manager

Job Description:

The Project Information Manager (PIM) will be a member of the newly formed Information Services Project Management Office (IS PMO). The selected candidate reports to the Director of the IS PMO and is responsible for leading and delivering IT projects to the business. The PM must exhibit leadership and coaching qualities as we implement enhancements to our processes.

This role is responsible for developing detailed strategy, scope, estimate, risk mitigation, communications and implementation plans for assigned projects from initiation to delivery using our Baseline Centric approach. The successful candidate will have experience estimating IT projects and managing change throughout project execution. PM's will typically manage a portfolio of small to medium sized projects and mentor others assigned to the smaller projects and service requests.

Fluor's Government Group has three diverse business lines. Each of these has their unique requirements and level of dynamic response to our client's needs. The PM must be adept at building relationships and responding to change both within IT and across our matrix organization at the management level.

Project management duties will include, but not be limited to:

o Responsible for overall project performance and activities working with technical managers and assigned personnel.

o Form, motivate and lead teams that are comprised of both Greenville, SC based (functional departments) and remote (IT) teleworkers.

o Demonstrate strong, effective and decisive project leadership and establish an execution framework to ensure the quality, value, timely execution of assigned projects

o Conduct technical feasibility, risk assessment, and cost analysis estimates

o Manage risks and issues effectively while engaging stakeholders to manage their expectations and obtain approvals of changes to the baseline.

o Participate in vendor relationships, set up software demonstrations, and create cost and functional comparisons for IT management

o Participate in creating charter documentation with internal clients

o Manage the creation of requirements documents working with technical staff (functional specifications, test plans and technical architecture diagrams)

o Responsibility for development and maintenance of project scope, deliverables, schedule, budget, and reporting

o Develop resource plans and participate with higher level resource planning across the PMO book of work and IS operations activity. Successfully navigate priorities with operational managers when resources are shared

o Review and validate vendor invoices per the contract terms

o Interface with project personnel to review and confirm overall project objectives and requirements; be creative in suggesting alternatives that reduce costs, improve reliability, reduce risks, etc.

o Collaborate with internal IT departments and various levels of stakeholders within the business

o Facilitate communications and solutions development at a business level

o Develop standards and templates for the execution of projects.
