POSITION SUMMARY
The Respiratory Area Supervisor under the guidance of the department Director/Manager, and the Medical Director performs duties relating to personnel supervision and scheduling, quality control, work flow efficiency, employee training and equipment maintenance and clinical procedures in accordance with age specific and culturally appropriate patient care guidelines. The Supervisor also performs moderate complexity testing to include blood gases, Hbg. And electrolytes, as well as performs invasive procedures to include airway management , assisting physician with bronchoscopes, and radial, brachial, capillary, and femoral arterial punctures.. The Supervisor is responsible for assisting with patient and staff education, new employee training and on going staff competencies.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Required:
Associate Degree in Respiratory from an approved School.

Preferred:
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Required:
At least 5 years as a Critical Care Practitioner. Proficiency in emergency airway management.
Good interpersonal skills

Preferred:
Prior Supervisory experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES and/or REGISTRATIONS
Required:
Licensed by the S.C. Board of Medical Examiners
Registered by the NBRC
Current Certification in BLS.
Current Certification in ACLS.

Preferred:
Current Certification in PALS.
