Leading technology manufacturer is seeking an Export Compliance & Licensing Specialist for its West Palm
Beach facility,to join its Contracts & Compliance Department. The candidate will work with a group of legal and import/export compliance professionals to facilitate, analyze, authorize, and assess compliance with U.S. import
and export laws and regulations, particularly related to the export of hardware, technical data, and defense services.
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out complicated export licensing tasks with some direction
from his/her direct supervisor. The candidate will assist in the management and compliance of the export licensing activities related to both Commerce and State Department export authorizations. A strong knowledge of the current U.S. Government regulations pertaining to import and export controls is a must in order to assess and analyze the
requirements of the export of parts, technical data, services, and aircraft. The ideal candidate would be knowledgeable in the following subject areas: Incoterms, ITAR Exemptions, DSP-5, DSP-6, DSP-61 and DSP-73 ITAR licenses, ITAR Technical Assistance Agreements, ITAR Warehouse and Distribution Agreements, US Customs Entry/Exit Requirements, Export Record keeping, and Export Classification (ECCN and USML).
AA/AS degree w/5+ years experience.
BA/BS degree w/3+ years experience.
JD w/1+ years experience. Candidate must have a minimum of 1 year experience in any of the following
areas: import/export compliance, international business, paralegal or other legal-related fields.
Experience and/or knowledge of US import / export regulatory requirements preferred.
As a member of a service department, the successful candidate must also be able to balance the requirements of our internal clients and external partners, while keeping the goals of the company firmly in mind, and possess the following skills:
- Superb writing and oral communication skills;
- The ability to perform analysis of import and export control requirements and strategies and apply them to Sikorsky''s
business requirements;
- The ability to assist in the development, implementation, enhancement and maintenance of export compliance
procedures and related work instructions; and
- The ability to assist in the education of company personnel on export control issues and developments.
