Title: Medical Sonographer - Emergency Dept. West Mixed Schedule

* Positions and prepares patients for exams according to the type of procedure to be performed
* Assesses patients throughout procedures and responds to patient needs as appropriate
* Completes appropriate documentation for each study performed, including all computer and PACS functions
*
Observes safety regulations and aseptic practice techniques to protect patients and staff
*
Demonstrates knowledge of universal protocols, and uses professional judgment and critical thinking skills when performing procedures
*
Assists with orientation and training of new staff and instructs students during their clinical rotations
*
Performs sonograms including Ob/Gyn, abdominal, cerebral, vascular, pediatrics, small part scans, and other necessary studies
*
Participates in the improvement of operational functions of the department
*
Monitors and evaluates the quality and appropriateness of care and practices identifying opportunities for improvement through collaboration
* Required Registration, Licensure or Certification
* Current registry by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
* Current registry as a Registered Vascular Technologist
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course, as specified in policy
* Valid Driver''s License
* Preferred Registration, Licensure or Certification

One year of experience in an Imaging department
