PURPOSE OF YOUR POSITION
*
Performs a variety of minor and preventative maintenance duties involving physical labor. Assists tradesmen as needed. Maintains mechanical rooms and work areas in clean and orderly condition. Must be familiar with Hospital emergency procedures. Polices the hospital grounds and assists with snow removal.
Performs maintenance services and minor repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, electrical, or vehicle servicing. Is knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures in areas of specialty

Work frequently requires high physical effort requiring above average strength and stamina. Must be able to push or slide up to 100 pounds (21-50% of work time).

Work frequently requires manual dexterity and motor coordination needed to handle a variety of tools and equipment (21-50% of work time).

Work frequently necessitates use of stepladder, extension ladder and scaffolding (21-50% of work time).

Must have form and depth perception

Work occasionally requires travel to offsite locations, picking up parts from vendors (6-20% of work time).

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Work is frequently performed under extreme environmental conditions and temperatures and may be performed outside in unpleasant weather conditions or involves particularly hazardous work. May be required to work in areas requiring safety equipment (21-50% of work time).

QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalent required.
*
One year experience in maintenance/trade field required.
*
Valid driver''s license and proof of insurability.
*
Pennsylvania state police criminal record check, child abuse history clearance and an FBI criminal history check required.
*
Work requires basic computer literacy including knowledge of email, internet research and navigation.
*
Work requires occasional interpersonal contact to exchange information between team members and customers (6-20% of work time).
*
Work requires constant adaptation to multiple demands and is frequently performed under tight deadlines (21-50% of work time).
