Sr. Staff Business Operations Leader – Engineering Tools

**Role Summary:**

The Engineering Tools Operations Leader is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for design, development, delivery, and operations of engineering development tool suites that support the GETS Digital Solutions global products and projects based technology organization.

**Essential Responsibilities:**

This role will enable the "Digital Thread" capability for a large, distributed Engineering / Technology organization, and will be responsible to work with Engineering Directors, IT Leaders, and Corporate CyberSecurity Leaders, to implement solutions to support engineering and product life cycle management in distributed product development environments.

In addition you will:

+ Provide leadership in the planning, evaluation, design, development, implementation, and operation of Engineering SDLC tools and systems, including integrations, interfaces, and decision support through Business Intelligence environments

+ Lead regional business system deployments and program implementations along with IT teams, and aligned with global standards and methodologies

+ Create, communicate and own all Program plans, strategy and execution to support the business growth

+ Foster culture of metrics driven decision making, by accelerating feedback loops of platform tools such as; Uptime, Customer Satisfaction, Successes/Failures, Outages, API response times

+ Work with Corporate DevOps team to ensure that; Engineering Tools are meeting expectations of Dev teams, DevOps goals are aligned with Platform Tool selections

+ Establish and own Engineering tool budgets, including initial implementation, licensing costs and maintenance agreements; maintain and provide status updates and program reporting to executive leadership

+ Execute and Manage all Engineering development tool purchases and vendor relationships/agreements

+ Be responsible for project initiation and completion within functional area by directing activities of others as well as maintaining individual project responsibilities

+ Be accountable for delivery of strategic goals and objectives defined through the GE planning processes

+ Evaluate and/or produce business plans and operating practices, which improve quality, increase productivity and reduce costs

+ Work as a business partner with client leaders and users to evaluate / improve business processes and arrive at mutual, cost effective solutions

+ Maintain effective communication with customer, client, supplier and leadership

+ Maintain current knowledge of new system management practices and information technologies that are applicable to business objectives and creatively promote their use

+ Motivate team by creating a sense of purpose to meet the goals of the business through coaching and leading by example

+ Assure conformance to system architecture, methods, standards and practices


+ Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science or Engineering (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in the application of information technologies to business solutions)

+ Minimum of 10 years of experience in business planning, resource allocation, and project management through full IT implementation cycles

**Desired Characteristics:**

Familiarity with one or more of the following will be a plus:

+ Experience with Implementation and Management of SDLC Tools (development, configuration management, requirements management, verification & validation management, release management, continuous build and integration)

+ Experience with Implementation and Management of Agile Software Development Tools (e.g. Rally, JIRA, VersionOne)

+ Experience with Agile Development Practices (Agile, Scrum, RTE, Kaban)

+ Experience with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) a plus

+ Experience with ISO 27002 compliance is a strong plus

+ Change management and acceleration, lean process design

+ Substantial knowledge of current business function and information technologies

+ Proven ability to attract, retain & develop key and diverse talent

+ Strong IT and Business Leader with ability to establish both strategic direction & execute on a daily basis

+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

+ Strong oral and written communication skills

+ Ability to meet objectives by influencing and engaging across multiple teams

+ Quality and cost driven

+ Demonstrated ability to select, evaluate, provide feedback, develop and assign employees
